Whitehead, Peter. BABY DOLL.

£12.00

Velvet Publications, London.  1997. 1st edn.  21 x 28 cms.  92 pages in card covers.  Apart from short afterword ("Afterimage") by Iain Sinclair and a couple of pages of adverts for other books, this is all black & white photographs.

This is probably the strangest photo book you will ever see!  In 1972 avant-garde film maker Peter Whitehead found himself in a French chateau with a teenage heiress model and a month's supply of film and psychedelic drugs.  The result is an uncensored, unflinching photographic journal of sexual metamorphosis and personality disintegration.

Although not identified in the book, the girl is supposedly Mia Martin, best known as one of the Benny Hill girls!

A new unopened copy.
